Weekend Fun

We had the best weekend!  Ali and I spent the day together Saturday, and even though we were sad that daddy ended up working overtime we still got to visit him for a walk around the duck pond.  Ali had a great time chasing the ducks!  She would have gone straight into the pond if we hadn't been there to stop her!  There were lots of new baby ducks too.  So cute!  Then Sunday Ant so sweetly agreed to come with me to the classroom to help entertain Ali and put a shelf together for me so I wouldn't miss any family time today!  Ali had a great time and showed us that she is a true climber!
I am counting down the days until summer break!  17 kid days to go!

Sleepy girl...

Trying to get daddy's "Ga-lasssss" as Ali calls them.

Where has the time gone?!?!?

We cannot believe that our tiny 2 pounds and 15 ounce angel is 18 months old!  The time has just flown by and continues to move faster!  She is doing so well and keeps us smiling, laughing, and guessing at what she will thrill us with next!  We had her 18 month check up this week and here are Miss Ali's latest stats.  She has come a long way!  We are so thankful to have such a healthy, happy, loving baby girl!

Weight: 19 pounds 10th percentile
Height:  31 inches 20th percentile

The doctor is very pleased with her growth, development, and speech.  For her adjusted age of 16 months she is right on track and we are right on track with her 18 month development except in the area of weight.  But that is still not a concern to the doctor since her weight for height continues to move in the right direction and is proportional.  Ali is a very picky eater and does not like many textures.  We are still mainly on pureed baby food and a toddler formula to ensure she gets the appropriate nutrients.  She will eat Cheerios, Goldfish, crackers in small pieces, basically any carbs.  She will eat a few bites of banana, but then has had enough.  She loves yogurt and sometimes loves a grilled cheese. We will continue to work on a variety of solids with her and if after the summer she is still not eating more solids we will look into some speech/swallowing therapy.  Hopefully over time she will get the hang of it!

Ali loves playing outside, reading and looking at books, and she especially loves her baby dolls, rocking them, kissing them, loving them.  Any baby she sees in person or in pictures she loves to cuddle and say, "Ohhhh....baby" or "babu" as it comes out a quite a bit!  She has started saying many new words over the past several weeks.  More and please along with their signs were her first two words.  She started saying mommy a couple of months ago and then stopped.  I am still waiting for her to say it again!  She is saying...daddy (a lot), hot, baby, Auburn, tiger, bunny, puppy, more, please, fish, Thumper (in one of her favorite books), toes, eyes, stars, and many other babbles, sounds, and phrases!   She can tell you what a dog, kitty, turtle, duck, puppy, and lizard say.  It is so precious!  Her kitty cat sound is still "beow!"  Anytime Ali sees the AU logo or a letter A she says Auburn.  Ali can point to eyes, ears, nose, belly, and toes!  She enjoys finding them on us rather than herself!   She is not a huge fan of many of her toys.  So we sort of stopped buying her bright, fun, and fancy toys!  She prefers our old cell phones, plastic containers, spoons, keys, parts to her bottles, medicine bottles, dancing, swinging, baby dolls, and especially the house phone, remote, or computer if we leave it within reach!  She loves to play chase (when we go get her), peek-a-boo, and sitting in our lap for a book.  Sometimes she will sit for a long while!  The girl loves her books and has for a long time!  We are having the time of our lives being her parents!  We feel so blessed to have her in our life!
Silly girl!

Checking out her reflection in the dishwasher!  Precious!

Our sweet angel!  Don't worry...it was a brand new sponge!

Happy Easter!

On Saturday, before Easter, we went to Moo and Pa's house for dinner and a fun egg hunting time with Ali's cousins Race and Lexie!  Ali had a blast!  She always does with R & L especially!  Ali did a great job looking for eggs and Race was so sweet to help her and share!

Ali's Visit to the Fire Station

We took daddy some dinner a couple of weeks ago and Ali had the best time running around the station and exploring the truck!  And of course we loved seeing daddy too before heading home for bed!
We miss him when he is not home!

I love this face!

Priceless...

Welcome Spring!

We are so happy that Spring is here!  Ali absolutely loves being outside!  As soon as the weather warmed up we started spending a lot of time outdoors!  We are so happy Ali enjoys getting dirty and exploring!  She's not afraid of anything!  Not sure if that is a good thing!  Considering we have lots of creatures in our backyard!  She has already picked up a turtle and a frog!  Yikes!  I don't think I have ever touched a frog!  She must get that from her daddy!
I am looking forward to my summer home with her!
Enjoying my backyard!

Turtle!  Wow, wow!!  Yes, we washed up very well right after!

Skinned knees, but still happy as can be playing with ice, dirt, and grass!

Enjoying a walk with mommy!

Ali's new favorite toy while mommy and daddy get ready for work!  I guess we get on it too much!

Sneaky girl!

Loves to swing...

Testing out the pool!  A little chilly, but she didn't mind!

Sweet baby!

Mmmmm.....yummy!

Big girl!

I'm still amazed at the things we find entertaining!

We went for a walk one morning on Spring Break and this precious pup followed us all the way home.  Ali LOVED her!!  She would get mad if she couldn't see her while she was sitting in her stroller.

Debuting my swimwear for the beach!  We can't wait!

Enjoying a lunch with mommy and daddy in downtown Opelika.
We had a great Spring Break together!

Catching up again...

Here I go again with a quick recap on the past few months!
Ali had her first real sickness about a week after Christmas.  I had it first thinking it was a food allergy, but then when Ali turned out to have the same crazy swelling in her eyes and red splotches all over her we determined it had to have been some type of virus.  Then she got a little cold or sinus infection after that and this is one of our last pictures of her with her paci.  She couldn't breathe with it so we easily got rid of paci early.  I enjoyed my extra cuddles!

Being silly with daddy before he leaves for work is one of Ali's favorite things!
She's the happiest girl I've ever met at 5:30 in the morning!

Out to eat with mommy, daddy, and grandmama!

Books, books, books!  Ali's favorite!  Makes mommy happy!

Just a little catalog shopping in the car...

Bubbles!!!  Loving bath time!

Our little dancer...the girl asks for music all the time!
Sorry for the sound...I was just learning how to use my new iPhone!
Gotta love MJ!

Ali loved playing in the water puddle on a rainy day!  We are so happy Ali likes to be outside and doesn't mind getting dirty!  We are going to have a fun summer!

Hiding from mommy behind my curtains!  Sweet Ali girl!
